The Queen Teaches

Today was my first session as a lecturer at UCLA. Things went well; my 40 slides were plenty to fill the two hours of lecture. As I moved on to the calculus, I found myself feeling more and more like the Tom Lehrer "new math" song: "and you know why four plus minus one plus ten is fourteen minus one? 'cause addition is commutative, right." There's nothing better than watching a sea of confused faces and knowing that your sad explanation is the only one they'll get. Oh well. As Neal said, I'm a lot cuter than the usual professors.
